The "coach's address"....
Well, hello again!
This will, in all probability, be the most coherent, grammatically correct, and well formatted blog of the whole journey.
As promised we are now off to Northern, and more particularly North West India.
We land in Delhi, then we go a wee bit south to Agra, and then waaaaaaay north and a tad west, into the area generally referred to as the Punjab Region. Towards the Pakistan border. That’s right, the place where the people who run the Punjab Sweet Shop, in Mason Street, Dandenong, come from, although I do believe we are to experience a touch of enlightenment as to other things that the area is famous/renowned for.
A quick check on Google was of great assistance in helping us get a visual grasp of what a typical Indian person will look like...... see image left
We have, as usual, made the absolute minimum of plans, other than arriving in Delhi on the 2nd of July and leaving on the 28th of July and a few nights accommodation, not much has been pre booked.
Per chance, our intentions were mentioned to a work colleague, and we were given a contact name and phone number in Delhi. Always nice to have a standby “just in case” contact, who happened to have been a Captain in the Indian Army. Appreciated..... especially if it’s not needed.

Then, in passing, our travel intentions were also mentioned to our yoga instructor Suyra. (Suri) (of vedyoga.com.au fame) It so happens that Surya not only comes from that part of the world, did his three year degree in Yoga and Health Sciences thereabouts, he has also been able to put us in contact with some of his friends and family to provide some “local content”, which promises to add a dimension not found in the travel brochures. Whilst not booked, we have the feeling that there has been a bit of local content planned, which will be graciously and thankfully accepted, if and when offered.
Nathalie is toying with an idea of seeing if there can be a few days of Yoga content to the trip. I’m not sure Andrew is as dedicated to this course of action....especially if it involves 4.00 am starts, in the snow, nude. (he made the last two specifications up....he thinks[hopes]?) .
Now just so this link does not get lost here is a short URL to this blog . So copy it and paste it wherever you need to stick it. http://tinyurl.com/PunjabTravels
Now, through the good graces of Suyra we have already had arranged for us a tour in and around Delhi, Agra , then Amritsar and then on to Hariwar, which is somewhere in the Punjab Region...........
The weather may be a factor.....
Current temp in New Delhi 34 deg and 78% humidity
But I think we will take our rain coats
Information from NDTV website ( 1 July, 2014) states.
"New Delhi: A western disturbance is likely to help advance the monsoon in the hilly parts of North India in the first week of July, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).......Monsoon will cover Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and west Uttar Pradesh by the first week of July and continuous rain is likely in the national capital and northwest plains, commencing around July 5," the agency said."

Woohoo!!! More later.................
Can you please attend the closing of the border ceremony and study the marching.
